Recently, the Philippine Department of Health once again called on the country’s president to veto the e-cigarette bill.

The e-cigarette bill, approved by the Philippine Senate in December 2021, includes provisions such as lowering the age limit for e-cigarette use from 21 to 18, allowing e-cigarettes to be flavored, and allowing e-cigarette advertising and sponsorship.

The Philippine Department of Health stated that the bill undermines existing national laws and policies, as well as regulations on the regulation, distribution, advertising, marketing and use of vaping products and heat-not-burn tobacco products, and will expose Filipino youth to electronic Smoke Harmful Substances and Risk of Addiction.
