Recently, the telegraph channel of the Legislative Assembly of the Khabarovsk region of Russia said that the region will not implement a ban on the sale of e-cigarettes, a move it considers impractical.
The legislators emphasised that today e-cigarettes are considered on par with other nicotine-containing products and that all restrictions are in line with bans related to tobacco smoking. They reasonably inferred that the ban would not have the desired effect and could lead to the sale of unauthorised goods.
One of the main reasons for the high use of e-cigarettes among children and adolescents is the lack of parental supervision and their encouraging behaviour.
The Russian Supervisory Authority for the Protection of Consumer Rights and Interests is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the sales regulations.
It is known that the Khabarovsk region is located in the Far East of Russia, adjacent to the north-eastern region of China.
