Kazakhstan News Agency reported on June 8 that Omanzhan Zamarov, a member of Kazakh Magilis (lower house of parliament), said on the 8th that the sale and consumption of electronic cigarettes in Kazakhstan will be banned. He said: “We have decided to amend the legislation to ban the sale and consumption of e-cigarettes in Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan will completely ban the sale and consumption of tobacco-containing e-liquids and e-cigarettes.”

According to reports, Kazakhstan has not currently taxed electronic heated cigarettes (IQOS and GLO). At the same time, lawmakers made additions and amendments to the health care code banning the sale and consumption of tobacco-containing e-liquids and vaping cigarettes. “The sale and consumption of various flavored e-liquids and vaping cigarettes in Kazakhstan will be completely banned. Therefore, these concepts have been removed from the tax code,” Zamarov said.
